Do you remember having a piggy bank or some kind of a savings bank when you were little? I used to save my coins and pocket money as hard as I could all year for my summer vacation so I could buy an ice cream, or a ball for the beach, or some new sunglasses. Things that seem to be so much taken for granted now, but these were treats that had to be saved for not all that long ago. It’s good for kids to learn about saving money up for treats and things they want, and to learn when there isn’t enough money for everything they want too. That’s why we love to share projects that can teach as well as entertain.
Today, a savings bank made from a simple soft drink bottle and made to look like an airplane just using simple supplies such as construction paper or card stock and some tape. Let the kids make their own and decorate them how they like.
