4th Of July Decorations – Easy DIY American Flag Mason Jar Candles
Independence Day is creeping up on us very fast. Whether your celebrations involve dinner, drinks, inside or outside entertainment, it is time to start planning the decor for this special day. We love these American flag mason jar candles. They are very quick and easy to make. Although simple, they create all of the ambience and patriotic feel that you want in 4th of July decorations.
You Will Need
- Large glass jars (clean and with labels removed)
- Small American flags
- Mod Podge Gloss as a sealer
- Votive candles or tea lights
Making The Mason Jar Candles
Start by removing the ‘flag pole’ from your mini American flags.
Next, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the back of the flag.
Position the flag on your mason jar. Make sure you smooth out any air bubbles that may form under the flag.
Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the flag and leave to dry. This will ensure that the flag sticks to the jar.
Place your votive candle or tea light inside the jar.
Optional: You can place sand or rocks inside the mason jar before the tea light. This will add a bit more stability so the candle doesn’t move around. It also makes the jar look a little prettier.
