That’s not all, you’ll be more confident in your knitting, make fewer errors and realize the immense potential of this knitted brain hat. You will hopefully create a warm and beautiful “brain hat”. But first things first, why a knitted brain hat?

Hahaha, sometimes the silliest knitting ideas are the best ones! I ran into this brain hat pattern at a time I was following the iZombie TV series on the CW network.

The plot was simple really, a medical resident at the coroner’s office comes up with these “brain recipes” taking on the personality of the deceased person and helping solve crimes.

Knitted Brain Hat Is The Perfect Dress Up Item

Well today I sadly won’t be sharing with you any brain recipes but what I can promise you is something much better; the a brain knit cap pattern. At Crafting News, we think this idea for a hat is really ‘smart’!

The hat is a fun hat to keep you or the kids warm in chilly winter weather, or you and the family could also wear it as part of a fancy dress costume.

Sounds like an excellent idea for Halloween, doesn’t it? What I’d love to see more than anything is this hat used as part of a mad scientist costume.

If you have seen Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, then you know what I’m talking about.

Working this hat in some dull greyish colors with some hint of red here and there would also work together with a-rockin’ zombie costume.

Now, gather your materials and start knitting your brains out!

Your Knitted Brain Color Choices

The human brain has a grey color with bits of white, black and red here and there. If you intend to sell authenticity, we recommend you stick to grey heather yarn and a little red here and there.

It depends what kind of crowd you plan to hang around in this knit a brain hat pattern. If it’s the nerds or anatomy geeks, trust me you’re going to have a hard time.

However, the thing about zombies is that they don’t really care about peoples opinions and what not. Use any combination of colors to bring out the desired effect.

As you know zombies in most cases appear to have seen better days and are mostly decomposed.

Throw in a light shade of green to bring out the “rotting effect”. The small details make a huge impact on the overall aesthetics.
